Before The Word By Pierre Ranzini & Cristina Di Pasquali (FR)
17 Aug to 25 Aug
7:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Focusing on the philosophical concepts of language, Before The Word comes alive through sound, evoking landscapes and moments of nature. Juxtaposed against the backdrop of Singapore, the luminous sculpture symbolises different human civilizations coming together, drawing parallels to this city’s mix of cultures and traditions that enrich and unite one another.
Words enable us to convey our version of reality in order for us to seek harmony. How do we become united through language? Join us at Before The Word as we find the answers.
About the Artist
Pierre Ranzini is an all-rounded, multi-disciplinary artist with a strong passion for visual arts and light installations. His artistic research surrounds the various concepts of what shapes reality, fueling him to use new technologies to create bridges between different media and the mechanics of technology and art anthropology. Ranzini’s works challenge its audience by testing and staging space and time, carving, cutting, glue-testing the present to determine the conditions of time and the universe it creates. Eager to create a platform for collaboration with other like-minded artists, Ranzini founded Mad Rhizome in 2011.
Cristina Di Pasquali
Stage designer and graphic designer Cristina Di Pasquali received her degree in decoration and scenography with honours from the Catania Academy of Fine Arts. With a background in teaching and graphic design, she moved to Paris to create new works by manipulating light and graphics, which led her to join Pierre Ranzini’s Mad Rhizome as the artistic director for the creation of decors for events and artistic installations.
