About the artist
New Stream Brass Band
New Stream Brass Band is the first-ever Singapore-based New Orleans style brass band that blends jazz, funk, latin and hip-hop styles with traditional New Orleans brass sounds. New Orleans brass bands are most famous for their “Second Line” parades, part of the city’s rich cultural heritage

RHYTHM NATION
The root of traditional rhythm dance originated from Africa. Tap dancing was later created and evolved through a collision of cultures between the African slaves & European immigrants in America. Today, tap continues to evolve into a varied cultural tradition that is both intergenerational and multiracial. Since the 90s, the tap bug has gone as far as Asian countries like Japan, Hong Kong & Taiwan. No longer considered mere entertainment, tap is finally receiving its due as a dynamic art form that encompasses a range of eclectic and individual styles as shown in successful shows like Tap Dogs, Bring in Da Noise Bring in Da Funk and Stomp.

Rhythm Nation was formed in 2004 and is the leading promoter of tap dance in Singapore. They are dedicated to promoting and developing awareness for the universal nature of percussive or rhythm tap dance in Singapore and Asia. In this spirit, Rhythm Nation welcomes you to the fascinating world of rhythm tap.
